Heritage Experiences was founded by Alexander & Hande Mecklenburg in 2026, bringing together heritage, place, and contemporary experience through a shared vision rooted in culture and meaningful travel.
Alexander Mecklenburg represents the heritage behind Heritage Experiences. As part of the current generation of the House of Mecklenburg—the family that shaped and ruled the region from the 13th century until the First World War—his connection to Mecklenburg is both historical and deeply personal. His perspective is grounded in the belief that cultural heritage, tradition, and regional identity should not remain static or distant, but continue to be experienced and understood in meaningful ways by new generations.
Hande Mecklenburg shapes the experiential dimension of Heritage Experiences. Born and raised in Turkey and later educated in the Netherlands, her background combines travel, hospitality, culinary entrepreneurship, and hosting. Through this perspective, she translates stories, places, and heritage into carefully curated experiences—bringing people together through journeys, long-table gatherings, retreats, and a refined sense of atmosphere.
In 2024, Hande and Alexander chose to return to Mecklenburg to live and raise their child, reconnecting with a region that has shaped both family history and identity for generations. Through this return came a renewed realization: Mecklenburg remains one of Northern Europe’s most quietly extraordinary yet overlooked regions.
Far removed from mass tourism, Mecklenburg offers expansive natural landscapes, countless historic estates and manor houses, rich architectural heritage, and a slower rhythm of life shaped by nature and tradition. Known for its lakes, forests, and remarkable birdlife—and as the birthplace of Queen Charlotte—the region carries a cultural depth that extends far beyond its borders.
Heritage Experiences emerged from the desire to share this richness in a way that feels immersive, personal, and contemporary—inviting guests not simply to observe culture, but to step into it.
